Join Mrs Joseph and Mrs Doodles for joyful, interactive 30 minute online phonics sessions designed to help young children become confident readers and writers.

Together, Mrs Joseph and Mrs Doodles have helped hundreds of children develop their early literacy skills, including children who began with very little knowledge of sounds and went on to read, write and create wonderful stories of their own.

Sounds to Sentences | Reception

Sounds to Sentences is designed for Reception children who are at the beginning of their phonics journey or who need a little extra help building their confidence.

Through songs, games, stories and playful activities, children will learn and recognise new sounds, practise hearing sounds in words and begin blending sounds together to read simple words. As their confidence and phonics knowledge grow, they will gradually progress towards reading words and simple sentences.

There is no pressure to already be reading or writing. The focus is on building those strong early foundations and helping children discover that learning to read can be fun.

Sounds to Stories | Year 1

Sounds to Stories takes children to the next stage of their phonics journey.

Children will continue developing their phonics knowledge while becoming more confident at blending to read, segmenting to spell, recognising tricky Red Words and reading and writing sentences. As their skills develop, we will begin using those sentences to create simple stories of our own.

Both clubs are short, engaging and full of Mrs Doodles’ magic and Mrs Joseph’s expert guidance, with lots of encouragement, laughter and opportunities for children to feel successful.

The journey starts with a sound, grows into a sentence and, before you know it, becomes a story.
